European Travel Commission
In July 2016, Select Holding has been accredited as the official representative of European Travel Commission in China. At the same time, Welcome Chinese Certification was recognized by the European Travel Commission as the official standard for the reception of Chinese tourists in Europe.
Select Holding was mandated by ETC to identify prospect partners for the 2018 EU-China Tourism Year and to negotiate the terms of these partnerships.
In 2018 Select Holding has been selected by UNESCO to support the agency in the establishment of relationships with Chinese travel industry and media for activities linked to 2018 ETCY. The project involved 34 heritage sites within 19 countries in Europe and it was supported by European Union. In the second half of 2018, Welcome Chinese has been appointed by UNESCO to manage and maintain the digital and social media channels for 32 of their heritage sites.
Saudi Tourism Authority
In 2021 Select Holding has been selected as the representative office of Saudi Tourism Authority in China, with the goal of promoting the Kindgom of Saudi Arabia as new destination for Chinese travellers. As representation office, Select Holding has a dedicated team of professionals working both online and offline with desks in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, strenghtening relations and parterships with companies in the travel sector (OTA and tour operators). Representation services include, but are not limited to, the organization of road shows, sales calls, participation to official events, attendance of trade related events, as well as training sessions for staffs of trade partners.
Europe China Tourism Year (ECTY)
Government and Industry leaders gathered in Venice to launch 2018 EU-China Tourism Year to attend, among others, two main events: a Business Summit involving a wide variety of participants, from SMEs to Commissioners of the EU and a simultaneous High-Level Meeting in Palazzo Ducale. The programme of EU-China Tourism Year (ECTY) was funded by the European Commission and delivered by leading European travel trade organisations, ETOA, ETC and Select Holding.
Partnerships With Chinese OTAS
Shanghai, May 16th 2018. On occasion of ITB China opening event, the strategic partners for 2018 EU-China Tourism Year promotional plan have been officially announced by Select Holding and ETC: Union Pay International, Tencent, Ctrip, Tuniu, Fliggy, Qyer and Tongcheng.
Select Holding has worked for China Central Television in the exclusive distribution of CCTV NEWS Channel (CGTN after their rebranding) for more than 5 years in different countries. As official distributor, Select Holding role was to actively promote the broadcasting of CCTV NEWS among hotels and other facility of the hospitality sector. Promotion was done at 360 degrees, from marketing campaign to supplier negotiation and channel installation supervision.
Italian Railway Companies
Select Holding has been the representative office in China for NTV (Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori), and Trenitalia. Main task was to promote their services and routes to Chinese clientele,and to sell high speed trains tickets through Chinese tour operators and travel agencies. Besides selling tickets, Select Holding also trained both companies on how to improve their services towards Chinese clientele. Trenitalia has also been awarded by China Tourism Academy with the Welcome Chinese certification.
Paris Airport Charles De Gaulle
As representative office of Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, Select Holding has closely worked with the airport team within five business scope : Route development – Select Holding supported the new routes opening of Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou and Shenzhen, facilitating the engagement between local government, airlines, and head level of Paris airport; Offline activities in China – Travel fairs, business meeting, sales call; Tailored project to increase the average spending of Chinese tourists at the airport by launching the commission policy with tour operators; Membership liaison office to the airport concierge, servicing their VIP clients; Event organizer in China to support the airport events tailored for high-end members.
Blue Panorama Route Development
In 2018, Select Holding supported negotiation between Blue Panorama carrier and Phoenix Travel Worldwide Co. tour operator that ultimately led to the launch of 5 new routes from China to Italy, Bologna Airport. Select Holding role was to mediate between the 2 parties and actively support the route development part of the negotiation by leading the talks with CAAC ( Civil Aviation Administration of China).
CGTN Media Campaign
In 2017, Select Holding was in charge of coordinating CGTN (formely named CCTV NEWS) media campaign. Brand awareness campaign was conducted in the USA and UK, at main traffic airport hubs such as JFK, LAXand London Heathrow Airport. The campaign lasted 4 weeks.
Thanks to the collaboration between Select Holding and UnionPay, Select Holding has been able to implement a section on UnionPay International channels to promote Welcome Chinese certified members.Channels included: Ads targeting the international tourists, Banks,Airline companies and travel agencies. Every member had a unique landing page on UnionPay International, enjoying a great exposure. On the other hand, hotel have offered special benefit to UnionPay customers.
